Update: Haul!

Hey guys, utmost apologies for not updating my blog for the past few months! Have been caught up working and sometimes simply lazy. Plus, I am running out of muse lately. Not too sure what to write.

On the contrary, I actually updated something on this blog. But blogger stood up on me and deleted the entire post! All my efforts were down the drain :(

No matter how much it frustrated me, I knew I had to come up with something. Thus, I've came up with the idea of doing a haul post + minor reviews on the products I've bought this month!

Jeng jeng jeng!!

Though it may not look massive, but this was the first time I've mugged so many beauty products in a month! Blame the sales ... for some reason I heard them calling unto me. Dangerous.
There goes my wallet. Purchasing only a few of these stuffs cost around rm200. Crazy or what?

To make things easier, I've labelled the products in alphabetical order.

A. Maybelline the Magnum Volume Express waterproof mascara

I've used this product once before purchasing it again at Watson's. The reason why I repurchased it because popteen raved highly about this mascara. When applied, my lashes appeared fuller and more dramatic. But it wasn't much of a wow for me, because I think the brush was a tad too thick & hard to apply when you are in a hurry. It certainly made my lashes looked longer, but it was clumpy. It tugged on my lower lashes almost every time I blink.

Application wise was challenging. I had to be careful when I wave this thing on my lashes. Due to the thick bristles, it is not surprising to have black stains across your eyelids.

The formula stayed on pretty well for long hours, unfortunately it was extremely difficult to remove. A good makeup remover is important if you want to remove tough formulas such as this.

On the up side, the price was reasonable. That was another reason why I gave this product another chance. But unlikely in the future.

B. Revlon Colourstay foundation

Old readers might find this surprising. I knew I've been boycotting this brand after the unforgettable lipstick experience. But then again, I've heard really great reviews about this drugstore foundation. Priced at rm48, again, it is not incredibly expensive but certainly NOT cheap. Being the soft hearted one, I've forgiven this brand and decided to give it another go.

Thankfully, this foundation was not as horrible as the lipstick. It had great coverage and it lasted for a long, long time. It was labelled as one of America's longest lasting foundation that stays for 16 hours!! In terms of longevity, it beat my BB cream flat. Haha!

Unfortunately, I disliked the packaging of the product. Unlike my BB cream, the foundation is installed in a glass-like container. Not good to have it around you when you are angry. This thing will break! Moreover, it did not have a pump for easy use. Difficult to pour the contents out in a decent amount because it has a huge opening. In addition, bacteria would love to breed in that area.

Last but not least, it smelled horrible. There is this funky alcoholic scent when you pour the contents out. No, just no.

C. Fresh Nail Wash Safe Nail Polish Remover.

I haven't tried this out yet. But it was cheap, rm8 for two bottles. Yet to have reviews on this one.

D. Etude House Nail Polishes

I loved the packaging! It was so lovely! I regretted not purchasing the entire collection because there was 50% off. rm2.95 per bottle, an absolute steal!

Quality was decent, way better than elianto. With base and top coat applied, the nail colour stayed on pretty well. It doesn't chip as badly as elianto.

Oh boy .... I am getting tired already. Haha!

E. Etude House LuciDarling Gradient cheek in peach

My brain is calling me to stop. Thus I am going to go very briefly on this one. Besides I've not used this product long enough to do a full review.

Pigmentation was meh. Hardly showed up with a few strokes on my cheeks. But I love the scent and shade of the product. It was a sweet tangerine colour that made me happy after using it.

I am having this orangy and nude season now. I love everything in nude and orange.

But, I would say that this product disappointed me. It did not last long and the pigmentation was pretty lousy. :(

Unlike the peach blush range I've purchased last year, which was overly pigmented, I was surprised that this turned out to be so subtle. Putting on a decent amount of pink blush and you are ready to make the clowns jealous. (Referring to the peach blush range)

F. Canmake cream cheek in Apricot

I love the packaging!! Uber cute!!!

The product was stored in a diamond shaped plastic container. Feeling rich after tagging it around with me! *Elegance and superiority aura filling every corner of the room*

I have not used this long enough to present a full review, but I would say it performed much better compared to the LuciDarling blush I've bought from Etude house.

A tad hard to blend it across my cheeks, but it was highly pigmented. A few swipes will do.

It stayed on the entire day. I was surprised :) Plus, it has tiny chunks of glitter in the product that provides a brighter finish on your cheeks.

All in all, mid year sales is the best time for shopping! 50% - 70% discounts would not be a rare sight to see. Thus, buckle up for future haul updates :) I would love to have a complete review on some products if I have the time.

I hope that the reviews are helpful. See you again soon!

P/S: I inserted the wrong url in my pics. It is lovinthatchapstick not lovinchapstick. Sorry for the epic blurness!
