Rimmel lasting finish lipstick.

Actually, I am pretty nervous because this is my first post.
I used to post beauty reviews in my personal blog, but I find it messy chucking in reviews in the middle of my personal blog - which is supposed to be about my life.

Plus, I've been abandoning this new account for some time now.

Since beauty products are things I love ranting about, why not vent it here?

Ok, back to business.

Yesterday, I had a brief stroll at Watson's located in Mid Valley.

Not having the crave to purchase anything yet, I ran through some testers and bumped into this gem - Rimmel lasting finish lipstick in 006 pink blush.

Due to my recent dilemma over a broken lipstick (Revlon Colourburst in Soft nude), I was pretty skeptical about purchasing another. I literally lost all hope towards drugstore lippies because my previous buy was a failure.

To my dismay - Revlon's lipstick had such terrible quality. I was quite surprised because many people raved about Revlon's products. So yeah.

Just so you know, that lipstick broke after I used it few days. It melted and broke, how great!

Back to the subject, I was taken back by the swatches I've made on my hand. This particular lipstick seemed to be quite pigmented and gilded easily on my hand. After contemplating for a bit I decided to give it a go.

This matte light pink lipstick was really pigmented when applied on the lips. Application wise was so-so, as it did not glide as easily compared to my hand (during swatches). For an even application, using a lip brush or finger would solve the problem.

Unfortunately, this chapstick was pretty dry. After some time your lips might probably dry out. Thus it is advisable to use a lip balm before application, or a lip gloss after application. Topping the lipstick with a layer of lip gloss really worked well for me. Plus it looked really nice!

(P/S: Lip gloss was used in this photo, sorry for not exfoliating my lips.)

Another downside to this product was the packaging. The plastic looked quite cheap and the cap is not fastened tightly. Besides, the scent may be unpleasant to some. It smelled like lotion or lip balm that I've used before (not sure which). Personally, I don't mind the smell.

All in all, I think this product is a steal. With a price of only rm19.21 - in exchange of the pigmentation and decent quality, I think it is a great deal.

Comparing it to Revlon's colourburst line, Rimmel is definitely much better. Furthermore, Revlon CB lipstick is rm35.90 - overpriced for a lipstick that breaks. Oh yeah.

Who wants to waste their money on something that breaks anyway?

End of the day it is up to personal preferences and it may not suit everyone. At least this lipstick will not burn a hole through your wallet. Worth checking it out.

I would rebuy this one. Maybe trying other colours from this range.
